Meeting May 15th - Mambourin Awards

The purpose of the meeting on May 15th was to hear about the work of Mambourin and make awards to their staff.
Danielle Carey-Munro, Chief Executive Officer, gave a presentation on the provision of services for those with disabilities. There are three areas of focus: skills development, helping create opportunities of employment and providing care to those seeking independence and work. Currently the organisation has 473 participants, with an average age of 36 and the primary disability being intellectual.
Each week 46 programs are run and include art, exercise and music. The service employs 278, the vast majority with at least a Cert III in disability services.
The following awards were presented:
Most Outstanding Support Worker , greater than 2 years of service: Shivani Gupta.
Dedicated with strong respectful and trusting relationships with participant.
Most Outstanding Support Worker , greater than 5 years of service: Christian Malaca
Consistently goes “above and beyond” to ensure participants and respected and empowered.
Most Outstanding Supported Employee in the last 12 months: Lee Gerlach-Hood
Part of the garden team at Werribee and has developed skills in communication and technical abilities.
