Our speaker on August 23rd was Vivienne Porter.
In 1977 Vivienne was a Rotary Exchange Student in South Africa. This experience change her life by revealing the injustices of apartheid. She then began teaching and progressed through management roles working as Director of Studies at Northern Territory University (now Charles Darwin University). She told of her experience working with disadvantaged people in UK, Germany and India. Over 24 years ago she established VIEC which since its humble beginnings, has become the largest student recruitment network in South Asia.
Our exchange student who has arrived from Czechia introduced herself and at another time will give a more detailed presentation. President Elizabeth presented Lenka with a club banner.
