Award Meetings

During May the club had two award nights supporting the community.

On May 7th three awards were made to staff and participants at Mambourin a local disaservices orgnisation. Before the presentations Mambourin CEO, Danielle Carey-Munro, gave an overview of their services and the challenges of providing quality services in the current structure of NDIS.

Three awards,valued at $1000, were presented.
1. Most Outstanding Supported Employee/Trainee of the Year
– Robert Cordier. Recognises an individual who has shown the most progress towards their goals over the past 12 months, or who has demonstrated an outstanding attitude in maintaining their skills, productivity, and positivity during this period.

2. Most Outstanding Disability Support Worker of the Year
(Less than 12 months’ experience in the disability sector) - awarded in absentia to Santosh Thota.
3 Most Outstanding Disability Support Worker of the Year
(Minimum of five years’ service to the sector, preferably 10 or more) awarded to Kim Nguyen 

The Evan Phillips apprenticeship award was presented to Ethan Bundle-Bell at our meeting on May 21st. This award is made in conjunction with WPC Group and recognises an outstanding contributor to our club Evan Phillips. The club acknowledges the support of Evan's daughter Judy and her husband Michael Pepi for this award. A short list of 4 was considered and the successful recipient was Ethan Bundle-Bell an apprentice in horticulture with Hobson's Bay Council. He is enjoying the diversity of his work from planting and propagating, making paths to mowing and see many opportunities to specialise in the future. He completed year 12 at Braybrook Secondary College in 2025. He coped well with a range of questions from the floor
