Speaker 16th March - Tommy Quick

Tommy Quick is a survivor of childhood stroke. He was only 12 years old when he was one of the 300 to 500 babies and children who have a stroke each year. His life was changed forever as he had to relearn how to do the most basic tasks and his communications skills and processing speed were also affected.

Tommy visited our club and was a guest speaker just before he set off pre-COVID on a 3000km bike ride raising funds for childhood stroke. Tommy was well on his way when he was hit by a car and almost died. This accident ended his bicycle trip and was followed by more rehabilitation.

He is now ready to go on the road again with his parents as his support team. As well as being physically strenuous it is also mentally challenging with long days on the road by himself. Although his parents are in the support vehicle he is riding by himself. You can follow his journey and support him by making a donation on his website .

He also has social media platforms on Facebook at “The 4 Points Australia” and  Instagram on 4pointsaustralia.

We wish Tommy a safe and successful trip. His resilience and generosity of spirit will see him through.

PS Tommy left on his trip last Friday (March 24) and was featured in the Age the previous morning.
